Last week was kind of a blur for me. Our AMAZING school was honored at the Alabama Reading Association's fall conference in Montgomery for winning the Exemplary Reading Program Award for the state of Alabama. Our Leadership team had the opportunity to do a presentation at the conference so there was LOTS of planning, preparation and then 2 days out of the classroom. All that to say I am BEHIND in the blogging world and I am sorry! Here are a few math and literacy centers that my kiddos worked on last week and be on the look out tomorrow for our centers from this week. If you like something you see let me know and I will be glad to send it to you! Happy Hump Day! :)

Hi!! Love your Native American activities!! Can you please send them to me give your still sharing! :)
ReplyDeletelanastos@me.com
These centers are cute, but highly inappropriate. If you are going to teach about Native Americans you shouldn't mock their culture with cartoon pictures of them and ceremonial subjects that are extremely symbolic (like tipis and feather headdresses). I think you should remove this post to avoid spreading this cultural insensitivity.
ReplyDeleteI would love a copy of your Native American centers if you are still sharing.
ReplyDeleteawentzel@onysd.wednt.edu
Gave you an incomplete email. Would still like the stations. We are studying Native Americans in January because we are doing CKLA and these would be perfect.
