Line Up! - A Bright Idea for Lining Up!

Have you ever used packing tape to tape down some cutesy decor you found to the floor for your kiddos to line up on only to find that it only lasts about 2 months and then it leaves a horrible residue on the floor? Frustrating, right? Well, I think I just might have the answer. A few years ago, I bought this awesome little machine called a CRICUT and I had the idea of cutting vinyl circles to put on the floor. I wasn't sure how they would hold up but to my surprise they still looked FANTASTIC on the very last day of school. :) All you need is some vinyl and a dicut machine...and Boom you have an AWESOME way for your students to line up. These are also great to use for math games or a floor number line.

  1. Jamie....did you see they have these in a teacher magazine for sale (School Specialty or Really Good Stuff). Right when I saw them....I thought of you! I still use these every year and I LOVE them. I really like the learning that can take place lining up, too! (Naomie stand on the number that equals....4 + 4, Cayden line up on the number that equals 10 - 5, Brandi line up on an even number, etc.) THANKS BUNCHES for your great idea!!! 2. This is a great idea for keeping the floor looking great and helping the students line up! Another reason to get a Cricut!

  3. Where has this idea been all my life? I once again spent a good amount of time with a scraper and goo gone on my classroom floor at the end of this school year. Off to find some vinyl!

  4. I tried to use the dots for walls and the color started to rub off. Is the Vinyl different? I would love to use this if it stays on the floor all year! I'm a little OCD about things :)

  5. I'm sorry, but how does the vinyl stick to the floor?

  6. Do you have to do anything special or did you just buy outdoor vinyl?

  7. Heather-I use outdoor vinyl and it holds up GREAT. :)

Diane-It is basically a sticker. You just pull of the backing and put it on the floor.
