EWWW Spiders!

This week our theme unit was spiders EWWWW!  I am definitely not a big fan of spiders but my kiddos sure do LOVE learning about them.  We had TONS of fun including reading Miss Spider's Tea Party by David Kirks and having our own tea party.  Here are a few of the centers that we did this week as well as a few theme activities.

Initial Sounds m, t, a, & s
more initial sounds plus cvc words

pocket chart of the week
practiced writing numbers & number words
patterns
I got this activity and the next from
Mrs. Lee's Spider unit on TPT!  :)
You should definitely check it out.

After reading Miss Spider's Tea Party we graphed
our favorite tea (juice).  This idea originally came from
Kinder by Kim.  You should check her site out.
She is FANTASTIC!!!!

This is also a Kim favorite!  :)
This week our kiddos learned about fire safety and
to wrap everything up Sparky the fire dog came for a visit.

  2. These are soooo adorable!! I know this may seem like a silly question, but I am really trying to visualize how you use these centers. Do you make more than one copy of each center? For example, let's use the "Web" by sounds activity. Do you make more than one set of spiders and webs? If so, how do you make sure they don't get mixed up when the kids are at that station? If not, do you put several different activities for each center group? Can ya help a girl out? =)

  4. Hi! No, I do not make more than one set of each game. I have 5 literacy and 5 math center baskets that rotate through my groups throughout the week. I only make 1 set of each game and then the kiddos in the group share the game pieces. I hope that makes sense. :)
